Defeating the Spirit of Delay

Defeating the Spirit of Delay!

I felt stirred by the Holy Spirit to write about an attack of the enemy that we have faced so many times over the last 20 years. In fact, I would say that this demonic spirit has done everything it can to slow down our vision, and I am sure it has also attacked you as well. I am here to declare enough is enough! I am of course talking about…. the spirit of Delay!  I also know that many times God will allow delay to take place to bring things into order or protection. In fact, many times rejection is protection. We must be okay with this type of delay because we know that we must , in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6).  You do not, however, have to be ok with the spirit of delay from the enemy. This is a spirit sent from the enemy to try and slow down God’s plan for your life. He will send road blocks, hindrances and even confusion into your path, to keep you from accomplishing all God has for you. Karen and I have faced this so many times. Over the last few months a very dear friend Pastor Jim Hessler in ND, and a well-known prophet shared with me that we were personally fighting this spirit called, “DELAY.”

For years we had tried to accomplish certain dreams and visions that God had placed in our hearts. Yet, to no avail, it seemed as though we could never see these things accomplished. Immediately, Karen and I began to pray against the spirit of delay and breakthrough came! I am here to encourage you to do the same. We know that all throughout God’s Word we see where the enemy tried to stand in the way of what God had desired for His people to do. I am reminded of the Prophet Daniel who fasted and prayed for breakthrough for 21 days. The Bible says that the Angel of the Lord came to him and told him that God heard his prayer on the first day, but the battle had been raging with the Prince of Persia and he had been detained (Daniel 10:10-13). We must awaken to the attack of the enemy. We are at war with principalities of the air.  (Eph. 6:10). I am reminded of the Apostle Paul and the hindrance that he faced when he tried to reach the brethren in Thessalonica. Paul wrote in 1 Thes. 2:17-18, “But, brothers and sisters, when we were orphaned by being separated from you for a short time (in person, not in thought), out of our intense longing we made every effort to see you. For we wanted to come to you—certainly I, Paul, did, again and again—but Satan blocked our way. That’s right! Even the Apostle Paul was hindered!

I truly believe that so many reading this blog are facing this battle. We must come together and do war against the enemy. We must stand up and declare authority over the enemy. We know that the enemy comes, but to kill, steal and destroy, but Jesus came to give you a powerful life (John 10:10). It is time to get busy about the work of the Kingdom of God and the hindrances must be stopped. God told me to tell you to hold on! I am reminded of this powerful promise in 1 Peter 5:10, “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” God has promised to restore you! We know that in Romans 8:31 the Apostle Paul reminds us, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” He then went on to write in verse 37, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Are you ready to fight?! ” Karen, my wife, has a powerful message called, “This is your now!” I truly believe that this blog is to awaken you to the fact that you must arise and push forward.

Here are 9 steps to help you defeat the spirit of delay!
